Abstract

Theophylline has recently been reported to antagonize nondepolarizing neuromuscular block in animals.1 To our knowledge, however, there has been no report of theophylline affecting neuromuscular transmission in humans. In this report we describe diffi- culty in achieving a nondepolarizing neuromuscular block in a patient who was receiving aminophylline by constant infusion.
